Hinson’s record tells a different story than his commercials
As I was running errands this weekend, I stopped to talk to an older gentleman and we got to talking politics. He spoke about how awful Republican ads have been this campaign cycle, naming Kim Reynolds and Ashley Hinson for outright lies in their ads and how aggressive they were toward opponents. He said he couldn’t stand watching them and changed the channel wherever they came from. I bet he’s not the only one.
As a working mom, one of the most concerning ads for me is when a group of moms claim that Ashley Hinson helped end the formula shortage. She didn’t, in fact, she voted against a bill to bring formula milk safely into the United States and onto shelves.
Hinson hasn’t done much to support moms or women in general. She voted against the Equal Rights Amendment which gives women the same guaranteed rights as men. She voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act guaranteeing women equal pay for the same work as their male counterparts. Other bills Hinson voted against that would help mothers include raising the minimum wage, access to contraception, expanding the child tax credit and free school meals.
Looking at Ashley’s record in Congress, she’s definitely not voting to help moms like me. It’s time to turn off the ads and check out his voting record if you want to know what Hinson did in Congress.
