CFL ACTION ALERT: CONTACT THE PRESIDENT AND YOUR REPRESENTATIVES TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE OPPOSED TO SHARON’S APARTHEID WALL.

TALKING POINTS

*Please contact your representatives and tell them that you expect them to support the current hearings in the Hague over Israel’s apartheid wall. Remind your representatives that the U.S. cannot and will not be viewed as impartial as long as this government continues to support Israel and all of that countries criminal actions.

*If you are a constituent of either Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL) or Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH) please contact their offices immediately and express your opposition to their visit to The Hague to participate in a rally opposing the ICJ proceedings concerning the Israeli apartheid wall. For Rep. Wexler, please contact: Contact: Lale Mamaux, Phone: 202-225-3001. To contact Rep. Chabot, call 202-225-2216.

*Despite knowledge that the apartheid wall is devastating Palestinian lives, Sharon refuses to amend the route so that it follows pre-1967 established borders. Sources close to Sharon say that the prime minister will not change the route of the fence where it intrudes into Palestinian territory, nor will he finish it along the Green Line. This wall is a concerted effort to murder any hope of a viable Palestinian state and is a deliberate attempt to strangle the Palestinian population into submission, then death. Demand an explanation from your representatives as to why they remain silent while this genocide unfolds before their very eyes.

*Tell your representatives that the very survival of the Palestinian people depends on the elimination of the apartheid wall. Farmers are being cut off of their land and are thus being denied the ability to work and feed their families. The United Nations and the World Bank have issued extensive reports about the rampant malnourishment and the epidemic of anemia in the territories caused by the strangling of Palestinian society by the Israeli Occupation Forces. We cannot tolerate the deliberate starvation of an entire people.

*Remind your representatives that Israel is repeatedly violating U.N. Resolutions with its continued building of the apartheid wall. U.N. Resolution 252 calls on Israel to stop taking measures to unify Jerusalem as the Jewish capital, yet Israel is building its wall around Jerusalem. Such action proves that Israel can, and will, violate any U.N. Resolutions it pleases without being held accountable by Washington.

*Tell your representatives that as long as this government sits idly by and allows Israel to ethnically cleanse the region of Palestinians through starvation and transfer, we cannot claim the moral high-ground anywhere in the world, nor can we claim that we support democracy and freedom. Democracy and freedom are an anathema to everything that Israel stands for.
