CFL ALERT: INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION TO STOP THE APARTHEID WALL.
Please join efforts with international and domestic organizations on November
9, 2003 to demand that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon takes down his
apartheid wall. On November 9 people from around the world will commemorate
the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall by demanding that Sharon
immediately cease construction of his apartheid wall. They will demand the
dismantling of the wall, the return of confiscated land to Palestinians and
compensation for lost income due to the destruction of land.
GO TO http://cflweb.org/congress_merge_.htm. AND SEND A LETTER NOW.
TALKING POINTS:
*The very survival of the Palestinian people depends on the elimination of the
apartheid
wall. Farmers are being cut off of their land and are thus being denied the
ability to work and feed their families. The UN and the World Bank have issued
extensive reports about the rampant malnourishment and the epidemic of anemia
in the territories caused by the strangling of Palestinian society by the
Israeli Occupation Forces. We cannot tolerate the deliberate starvation of an
entire people.
*Israel is repeatedly violating UN Resolutions with its continued building of
the apartheid wall. UN Resolution 252 calls on Israel to stop taking measures
to unify Jerusalem as the Jewish capital, yet Israel is building its wall
around Jerusalem. Such action proves that Israel can, and will, violate any UN
Resolutions it pleases without being held accountable by Washington.
*Tell your representatives that as long as this government sits idly by and
allows Israel to ethnically cleanse the region of Palestinians through
starvation and transfer, we cannot claim the moral high-ground anywhere in the
world, nor can we claim that we support democracy and freedom. Democracy and
freedom are an anathema to everything that Israel stands for.
