CFL ALERT: STOP THE KILLING IN GAZA AND ALL OF PALESTINE
In the past 48 hours the Israeli Occupation Forces have killed over 15
Palestinians (including a child) and have wounded another 50 in the Gaza
Strip. Please take a moment to contact your representatives and ask that they
demand Israel halt the killings of Palestinians. Tell your elected officials
that it is unacceptable for them to express sorrow over the loss of Israeli
lives and to remain silent as the body count of dead Palestinians continues to
grow.
TALKING POINTS
*15 Palestinians have been killed in Rafah and Al-Shijaiyeh in the last two
days and over 50 have been wounded. The dead include innocent civilians and
young children. The attacks in Gaza come days after Israeli Prime Minister
said his government was ready to leave illegal settlements in Gaza. The
Israeli Occupation Forces has also targeted medical facilities in Gaza and a
medical laboratory for conducting blood tests was destroyed.
*Tell your representatives that these Israeli attacks are a bloody attempt to
backtrack on promises made to remove Illegal settlements, in the hopes of
sparking Palestinian retaliation.
*Israelis have killed over 3000 Palestinians since September 2000; most of
them were innocent civilians and children. Remind your elected officials that
condemning suicide attacks while ignoring Israeli violence against Palestinian
men, women and children is not helpful and does not promote peace in the
region. It is time for this government to stop acting as though Palestinian
suicide bombings occur in a vacuum independent of Israeli actions.
