CFL ALERT: The Israeli Defense Forces have recently stated that they will remove six uninhabited illegal settlements in the West Bank. Tell your representatives that it is time Israel made real gestures toward peace rather than continue its illegal occupation by removing empty settlements. Israel's policies in the territories are a crime against the Palestinian people, but they also constitute a threat to Americans everywhere. A recent poll shows that the majority of Europeans believe Israel is the greatest threat to world peace, with the United States rated second. Tell your representatives that you believe that the United States is rated second because our government's policies enable Israeli extremism and intransigence in the Arab/Muslim world.

*Tell your representatives that you believe the international standing of the United States has suffered dramatically because extremist supporters of Israel link Israel and the United States morally and symbolically. Ask your representative to fight against Ariel Sharon's policies of denial and expansion and to dedicate themselves to American interests here and abroad.

*Ask your representatives to call for the immediate evacuation of all Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Gaza and Arab-East Jerusalem and to speak out against the evacuation of a few empty settlements. It is time that our representatives demand an end to Israeli games that are costing the lives of Palestinians and hurting the interest of every American. Our representatives have a moral obligation to distance Americans from Israeli crimes. We can no longer afford to be allied with the system of Zionist apartheid in the consciousness of the world.

*U.S. political and material support for Israel, along with the misapplication of our power in its favor, has led to resentment and anger among our traditional allies in Europe and around the world.
