CFL ALERT: ISRAEL CUTS OFF TIES WITH PALESTINIANS ON THE DAY OF ABU MAZEN'S INAUGURATION.

*The Palestine government has called for an end to attacks by militant groups against Israel; this is the strongest appeal since the death of Yasser Arafat. In return the Israelis have cut off ties with the Palestinians on the day that Abu Mazen was inaugurated and called for a military escalation on illegally occupied Palestinian land. Tell your representatives that it is time that the U.S. stopped supporting the Israeli intransigence.

*President Bush and Prime Minister Sharon said they would not deal with President Yasser Arafat. Now that he can no longer be used as a scapegoat by the Israelis, ask your representatives how long they will allow the Israelis to drag the region into more chaos and bloodshed. Tell your representatives that this country cannot claim moral high ground anywhere in the world, nor can we claim that we support democracy and freedom as long as we support the tyrannical policies of the Israeli occupation against Palestine. Tell your representatives that democracy and freedom are an anathema to everything that Israel stands for and that you resent that your hard-earned tax dollars are being sent to a nation bent on violating international law and carrying out a protracted holocaust against the Palestinian nation.
