CFL ALERT: Israel government memo admits flouting of road map.

A secret memorandum drawn up by the office of Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom and obtained by Reuters says Israel has refused to honor commitments under the U.S. road map for peace to evacuate illegal settler outposts and that instead Israel has opted to whitewash the existence of the settlements and build more. Write to the President and to your representatives in Congress and tell them that their dishonesty vis-a-vis Israel will cost them at election time. This is no time for the U.S. to tolerate and abet Israeli crimes and lies.

TALKING POINTS

*The U.S. government has never been so blatant in its bias towards Israel. On November 11 the Senate voted to sanction Syria economically, the language of the bill said that Syria must end its "occupation" of Lebanon, even though the Lebanese government has stated that it wants Syria's presence in its territories. Last week the U.S. refused to vote on a UN Resolution to protect the lives of Palestinian children under occupation. In October the U.S. refused to support a resolution that was overwhelmingly approved by the U.N. General Assembly that demanded Israel remove its apartheid wall and return land it has stolen from Palestinians in its construction.

*Tell your Representative that you support a one-state-solution to the Israeli-Palestinian impasse because it is the only alternative to the continued theft of Palestinian land and the continued construction of illegal settlements that to this day the Israeli government continues to build against the will of the International community that sees these outposts as criminal.

*Tell your representatives that such unfettered support for Israeli crimes will affect how you vote in the next election. This country cannot afford to
support regimes like Israel that show such a heinous disregard for the lives of Palestinian civilians. Ask your elected officials if they will stand up against Israeli oppression.
