WHO ARE WE
Citizens for Fair Legislation (CFL) is a grassroots organization made up of
Americans from different ethnic and religious backgrounds dedicated to human
rights, self-determination, and justice in the Middle East, through a fair and
balanced foreign policy toward the Arab world. Our aim is to influence local,
national, and international policymakers by meeting our elected officials and
voicing our opinions. Currently, we are focusing our efforts on the plight of
Palestinians, which represents the most polarizing issue hindering the
advancement of US-ARAB relations.
OUR PRINCIPLES AND ISSUES
We unequivocally stand for justice, human rights, and democracy for all and
recognize that no lasting peace can exist in any region of the world until
people everywhere are free and their rights are fully recognized.
OUR OBJECTIVE
*Halting aid to Israel and all other countries that are oppressive and violate
international human rights laws.
*Ending the Occupation of Palestine
*The Right of Return for refugees around the world waiting to return to their
homes.
*Ending the sanctions on Iraq, which have led to the death and starvation of
millions of innocent civilians, yet have had no impact on their intended target,
Saddam Hussein.
*Protecting the Civil Liberties of Arabs by influencing national legislation.
AVAILABLE TOOLS
*DEMOCRACY IN ACTION: A letter writing system available through our website,
which simplifies reaching out to your elected officials. You have the
choice of sending out a prewritten letter or writing your own. One email
can be sent to the President, Vice President, Senators, Representatives in the
House, and several members of the Bush Administration with a click of the mouse.
*ACTION ALERTS: CFL issues weekly action alerts with a corresponding letter. Members can benefit from acting on these action alerts and
spreading them to their contacts. Send as many of our pre-written letters to as
many Government officials as you like.
