CFL ACTION ALERT: PROTEST THE ARREST AND INHUMANE TREATMENT OF 2500 MEN AND BOYS ARRESTED IN CALIFORNIA.

Around 2,500 people are being held in detention camps in California as this alert is written. Most of the detainees are Iranian political exiles who over stayed their visas. Many of these unfortunate prisoners are as young as 16. They are being subjected to inhumane treatment and their civil rights are being violated. We must speak up for those who are defenseless. Please take some time to act today.

*Urge your Representative in the House and Senate to demand an immediate release of all detainees. Emphasize that they did nothing wrong and were complying with the law when they were arrested.

*The INS refuses to disclose the number of detainees who have been arrested. What is the INS trying to hide?

*Urge your Representatives to stand up for the civil rights of all people. The Bush administration cannot demand that the Arab world live up to the American paradigm of democracy while arresting thousands of law abiding people based on their nation of origin and their chosen religion.
