CFL ALERT: TELL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES THAT ISRAEL IS NOT A DEMOCRACY

Recently, members of the Bush administration and the Israeli government have publicly spoken out about Israel's nuclear capabilities. A recent Haaretz article stated that "Israel has the capability to fire nuclear warheads from submarines ... Israeli submarines are armed with U.S.-made Harpoon cruise missiles. Israel has modified nuclear warheads to fit these Harpoon missiles, and the missiles have been modified so that they can hit land targets ... Israel has the capability of launching nuclear missiles from the land, air and sea. "

We cannot sit idly by in the face of such blatant and racist double standards. We waged war on a country which we have yet to prove was in possession of any WMDs and we allow Israel to build up their nuclear weapons and threaten their neighbors with them.

TALKING POINTS
*We cannot allow Israel to continue to stockpile nuclear weapons while we wage war against other countries in the region for allegedly doing the same. Ask your Reps why inquiries of Israeli WMDs have been stifled by the US in the UN.

*Express your concern over the Israelis modifying American missiles and fitting them with nuclear warheads when Israel has shown such poor judgment by attacking other nations in the region.

*Ask your Reps for a clear definition of "democracy." Do they believe in the basic principle of: one person -- one vote, or do they support the idea of a nation that has no respect for citizens of a different religion?

*Call on your elected officials to stand up against Israeli oppression. The ghettos being created by Israel and the racist apartheid wall are appalling. Even more appalling is the fact that the creators were once the victims of such a policy.
