CFL ALERT: ISRAEL IS ESCALATING THE VIOLENCE AND UNDERMINING PALESTINIAN EFFORTS TO ACHIEVE PEACE.

Continued Israeli attacks on Palestinians are destroying every chance for peace between both parties in the region. On August 26, 26 innocent Palestinians were injured and one was killed by an Israeli air strike. There were no condemnations from the White House, only tacit approval of the continued murder of the Palestinian people.

TALKING POINTS:
* Tell the President that the recent murder of Palestinians is equally as horrific a crime as the murder of Israelis. Ask him to put pressure on Sharon to end his Zionist games meant to endlessly extend the illegal and immoral occupation of the Palestinian people. "Negotiating" to give back one piece of Palestine only to steal more land is a diversion intended to draw out the occupation and frustrate the Palestinian people.

*Tell the President that as the sole provider of Israeli welfare, this administration is responsible for all Israeli crimes. We are not acting as a mediator in the region; we are enabling the colonialism, the gross human rights violations and the breaking of international law.

*Israel's continued assassination attempts aim to kill all international peace efforts by goading the Palestinians into a cycle of revenge. Ask the President why he is allowing Israel to do this with American tax-funded welfare.

*Tell the President that Abu Mazen could have a chance to succeed if Palestinians actually saw a change in the facts on the ground. It is not realistic to expect progress and action only from the Palestinians. It is not the Palestinians who are keeping the Israelis under occupation, but the other way around.
